  • Skills for life

  • Increased motivation and appetite for learning

  • Broadened horizons

Time spent at The Towers allows students to develop life long learning skills such as problem solving and perseverance. These skills are transferable to different environments and situations. Outdoor learning is positively promoted by the government, Ofsted and Estyn.  Research shows that well planned outdoor learning can have a positive effect on a child's social, emotional and personal development. Here at The Towers we pride ourselves on working alongside teachers and other professionals to tailor make courses to suit the needs of the students. Many returning teachers comment on how time spent at The Towers with their students has helped them to develop positive and lasting relationships that have continued throughout school life and beyond.

As well as creating courses to develop students personally and socially we can also design courses to support subject studies. For example, geography field trips related to glaciation and the water cycle. By visiting real locations students gain first hand experience which greatly helps their understanding of the subject. We can also work with teachers to provide opportunities for training and assessment in outdoor activities within GCSE PE. If you would like us to help you bring a subject to life within the outdoor environment please get in touch and we can discuss options.
